  • 1 cup berries of choice, fresh or frozen
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • cup water
  • 2 tablespoons plant-based milk
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter optional
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • 1 banana
  • Peanut or almond butter for garnish


  • For the compote, place the berries in a saucepan and cook over medium low heat for 7 minutes until the fruit softens.
  • Mash the berries with a fork or wooden spoon to achieve a marmalade texture.
  • Put the rolled oats and water in a stockpot or dutch oven and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring so it doesn't stick to the pot.
  • Remove from heat and add the milk, peanut butter, and agave syrup, stir to mix well.
  • To serve, add porridge to a bowl pour compote on top. Garnish with peanut or almond butter if desired.
