Slow Cooker Pears in Muscat
- 4 pears firm
- 1 lime zested and juiced
- ½ cup muscat wine
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 slices fresh ginger
- 5 black peppercorns
- 2 cloves
- 4 star anise
- Mix the wine, sugar, lime zest, lime juice, star anise, ginger, cloves and peppercorns in the pot.
- Peel the pears, leave the whole stem and trim the base to be able to stand them up.
- Place the pears in the center of the removable pot. Cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes on Slow Cook HIGH.
- After cooking, remove the pears. Strain the sauce and serve pears with sauce poured on top.
You can substitute the sugar for cane sugar.
Be sure not to overcook the pears. Pears should be soft, but not falling apart.
