  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 large yams
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste


  • Peel the yams and cut them into round pieces. Pour the orange juice into the cooker.
  • Arrange the yams in the silicone steamer basket and sprinkle with salt, brown sugar, and orange zest. Place small amounts of butter all over the top.
  • Lower the steamer into the cooker, close and lock the lid. Bring to HIGH pressure and cook for 7 minutes (or 13 minutes at LOW pressure).
  • When done, release the pressure and remove the lid. Carefully lift out the basket with the yams. Transfer them to a serving dish.
  • Boil down the sauce until thickened and pour over the yams.
