Equipment

1 Sauté Pan plus induction cooktop
Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ⅔ cup milk
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups apples peeled, cored, and chopped
- Oil for frying, as needed
- Powdered sugar as needed
Instructions
- Heat the frying oil in a sauté pan to 375˚F.
- While the oil is heating, sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl and whisk.
- Add the milk, eggs, vanilla, and oil and mix well. Fold in the apples until evenly distributed.
- Working in batches, carefully drop about a spoonful of batter into the hot oil. Deep fry until golden, about 5 minutes depending on your red doneness. Flip to fry on all sides, if necessary.
- Use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate or cooling rack.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
