  • 2 cups dried chickpeas soaked overnight
  • 5 garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 cup parsley leaves chopped
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves chopped
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Cayenne pepper to taste (optional)
  • Cooking spray

  • Place the dried chickpeas in a large bowl. Fill with enough water to cover the chickpeas by at least 4 inches and soak for 18-24 hours (add more water if needed while soaking). Drain the chickpeas completely and lightly pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • Place the chickpeas along with the remaining ingredients in a food processor, you might need to work in batches. Blend everything together until the mixture is well combined.
  • Place the falafel mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  • Use an ice cream scooper to scoop the falafel mixture and, using your hands, roll it into balls.
  • Working in batches, lightly spray the Sizzle Tray with cooking spray, place the falafel balls on top, and spray the balls with cooking spray.
  • Cook the falafel balls in the air fryer at 375ºF for 10 minutes, flip them, then cook for another 5 minutes. They should be crispy and golden on the outside.
  • Serve hot with tahini, tzatziki, or your preferred dipping sauce.
